When We Fail to Change We Fail

When we come to the realization that this is not just a social norm we should continue to accept but an actual problem plaguing our youth, we will be able to spark a change. Instead of saying “you shouldn’t do this because you are a girl/boy” we should focus on whether the action is healthy or unhealthy and harmful or safe. The most basic form of acceptance comes from a child who is taught that who they are is a beautiful person no matter what they like to play with or do. At the end of the day a girl is still a girl whether she is prancing down the street in a tutu or digging up worms from the mud and a boy is still a boy if he puts a Barbie in his Tonka truck instead of a G.I. Joe.
